An Appeal for
Sighting New Moon
On Tuesday, July 25, 2006 - 29th
Jamadi-us-Sani 1427 H
As'salamu
alaikum,
29th
of Jamadi-us-Sani falls on Tuesday the 25th of July,
2006.Members of our community and especially the "Shahideen”
–Observers, are hereby requested to try to sight the
Hilal for the month of Rajab around Sunset (Maghrib) and inform us
on the telephone numbers given below. May Allah reward you
for this service of the community.
In a Hadith or tradition the Prophet S.A.S. said “Rajab is the
month of God.” It means
that this holy month brings us an opportunity, to do more and more
worship and good deeds with devotion and be rewarded. The Night of Meraj is
on the 26th of Rajab. Please remember to do Zikr (Remembrance of God)
and perform Prayers during the whole of this night. May Allah have
Mercy upon one and all.

Assalaamualaikum,
On the 29th of Jamadi-ul-Awwal 1427H i.e.
Sunday
the 25th of June 2006
,
New Moon was not sighted at any place in
North
America
. Consequently,
Jamadi-ul-Awwal will complete its full cycle of 30 days and the Ist
of Jamadi-us-Sani will be on
Tuesday,
the 27th of June 2006
.
I would like to thank all the Shahideen for their efforts to sight
the Hilal. We hope, with the Grace of Allah, this effort may be
continued in the Holy months ahead. May
Allah reward one and all.
