Once the Noble Propeht^SAS said: "If Prophethood was bestowed after me, it would have been on Umar"

A significant addition to the strength of Islam was the conversion of 'Hz Umar^RZ bin Al-Khattab’ in Zul-Hijjah, the sixth year of Prophethood, three days following the conversion of Hz Hamzah^RZ . He was a man of dauntless courage and resolution, feared and respected in and around Makkah, and previously a bitter opponent of Islam. The traditional account reveals that the Prophet^SAS once performed dua and said:

"O Allah! Give strength to Islam especially through either of two men you love more 'Umar bin Al-Khattab or Abu Jahl bin Hisham."

Hazrat Syed Hussain Balkhi passed away at his residence located in Kaladera, Hyderabad, India, after Maghrib on Tuesday, the 15th of December, 2009. He is survived by two daughters and two sons Mr. Syed Wahid Hussain Balkhi and Mr. Syed Iftikhar Hussain Balkhi.

Hazrat Syed Hussain Balkhi, who was said to be in his mid nineties, was a God fearing person and even before performing Tark-e-Duniya he spent much of his time in Zikr and prayers. He was very soft-spoken, kind hearted and courteous. He hails from Mussadiqabad which is also known as Eppalguda in Medak District of Andhra Pradesh. He graduated from Osmania University, Hyderabad in 1944 and became the first Mahdavi from Eppalguda, a village inhabited mostly by Mahdavees.
