Cricket- Nadeem to officiate ICC Tournament


Syed N. Nadeem Khundmiri, owner of Universal Mahdavis-online community group on, and his daughter Syeda Afifa Khundmiri,  will become the first from Mahdavia community to officiate an ICC Tournament as an Umpire & a Scorer respectively at the International Cricket Council (ICC) Level  in November this year.  The tournament is one of the tournaments for qualifying for the 2015 ICC World Cup.


To brief up his background , he has been associated with Kuwait Cricket Association since its inception  in the year 1995.  He has been accredited and recognized by the International Umpiring Associations of Australia & England and has secured 97% & 91% respectively in the qualifying exams conducted by these Associations.

Since 2004 he has been regularly umpiring at the Asian Cricket Council Tournaments (non-test playing Asian Countries) he has accomplished  some of the major tournaments like the ACC Elite Trophy, ACC T-20 Championships.ACC Middle-East Cup, ACC Gulf Cup.

He is a member of the New South Wales Cricket Umpires & Scores Association, Sydney which is managed by the leading international Umpires like Darrel Hair & Simon Taufel, he is also a member of the following Umpiring Associations.

·         Association of Cricket Officials – England Cricket Board (ECB)  London
·         Asian Cricket Council – Malaysia
·         Bangalore Cricket Umpires & Scorers Association – Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore

·         Kuwait Cricket – Kuwait

Further, his daughter Syeda Afifa Khundmiri,  11 years of age studying in 5th Std  is the youngest Cricket Scorer in Asian Cricket Council, will probably have the honors to become the youngest cricket scorer in ICC as well.  She was inspired by the women scorers from SINGAPORE and INDIA in the ACC Elite Trophy.

Learning a few basic steps and tips in Cricket Scoring from the professionals of the field, she got actively involved in cricket by scoring the televised IPL matches at home daily and day by day her fanaticism and interest in scoring gradually increased.  She has also passed the Cricket Umpiring  Scoring Course, scoring an aggregate of 72% in the Umpires & Scores Accreditation Course,  conducted under the auspicious of Asian Cricket Council (ACC).

In Cricket terminology, UMPIRES & SCORERS are one team, here we have a team of a Father and a Daughter representing the ICC tournament together for the first time. wishes both of them good luck.
